When Toby Fox released UNDERTALE in 2015, having written and composed it largely alone, he was not anticipating a world tour. A decade later, the music he built for that game fills concert halls on five continents, performed by a 25-piece orchestra to audiences that know every note. The Determination Symphony World Tour reaches Albany’s Palace Theatre on Sunday, April 4, 2027, part of a North American run that has sold out multiple dates and pushed several cities into adding second performances.
About the Show
UNDERTALE: The Determination Symphony is an orchestral concert produced by Lambert Jackson Productions with Materia Music, arrangements by Adam Hoskins. The program covers more than 50 songs drawn from Toby Fox’s original score, organized into two acts that follow the game’s narrative: Act One moves through the Ruins, Snowdin, Waterfall, and Hotland toward Asgore’s battle; Act Two covers the later story, featuring arrangement variations of MEGALOVANIA and Hopes and Dreams. Throughout, gameplay footage projects on a large screen above the orchestra, with the player’s name set to “YOU” — a choice that suggests the production team understands why this game built the audience it did.
The Albany show is part of the tour’s 10th anniversary celebration of Fox’s landmark indie RPG. Lambert Jackson previously staged the UNDERTALE 10th Anniversary Orchestral Concert in June 2025; this world tour is the international expansion, launched August 23, 2026, in San Jose, California, and now visiting five continents. Fox’s endorsement arrived in his characteristically economical terms: “UNDERTALE is a game with a lot of music, it’s good when skilled professionals play the music and people listen to it.” Attendees are encouraged to arrive in UNDERTALE cosplay. Exclusive merchandise will be available at the venue.
Venue & Logistics
The Palace Theatre on Clinton Avenue is Albany’s room for events that demand formal presentation. A production like this one, synchronized gameplay projection over a live orchestra, has specific technical requirements, and the Palace’s sightlines and scale handle them well. It is a fitting stop in the Capital Region for a tour of genuine international scope. Show time is 8:00 p.m.
