AngelMaker at Empire Underground | November 19, 2026

By Rachel Torrey · August 25, 2026

AngelMaker bring two vocalists to a stage and a rhythm section that hits like falling structure. The North Vancouver deathcore seven-piece has run this dual-vocal attack since 2011, the setup inspired by Despised Icon and paired with guitar work the band describes as “razer-edged technicality with cavernous grooves.” Live, it converts to what the band calls “pure energy into a communal surge.” That is their marketing copy. It also happens to be accurate.

About the Show

This is a headlining date, not a support slot. AngelMaker is concurrently working Suicide Silence’s fall 2026 “Reminders of Hell” North American tour alongside Emmure and Synestia, but Albany on November 19 does not appear on that itinerary—it falls between Suicide Silence’s Baltimore date (Nov. 18) and their Philadelphia date (Nov. 20), which makes this a standalone AngelMaker headlining night at Empire Underground. Opening is Ingested, the Manchester deathcore act with eight studio albums and an active 2026 North American touring campaign; their latest, Denigration, came out this year on Metal Blade Records. AngelMaker and Ingested also shared stages on the Canadian Heritage Tour earlier this summer, so the pairing is road-tested.

AngelMaker’s latest is This Used to Be Heaven, released November 2025, recorded with engineer Christian Donaldson and featuring guest appearances from Cameron Argon (Disfiguring the Goddess) and Ben Duerr (Shadow of Intent). The record introduced Ian Bearer, formerly of Rings of Saturn, as a new vocalist. Sputnikmusic gave it 3.5 out of 5, calling it “a little more palatable, a little more sanitized” than prior releases, noting an approach that emphasizes accessibility through cleaner production. It also leans into guitar solos and melodic instrumentals (elements the reviewer flagged as unusual in trend-chasing deathcore) and draws its black metal comparisons not to The Black Dahlia Murder but to Dissection. The band repressed their 2015 debut Dissentient on vinyl in April 2026, first time since the original pressing; initial pre-orders sold out fast.
