By the time Billy Idol reaches the Empower Federal Credit Union Amphitheater at Lakeview on Saturday, August 15, he will have played Darien Lake the night before — working his way down a Northeast corridor that stretches from Scranton to Raleigh. The “Its A Nice Day To…Tour Again!” summer run is not a soft farewell or a nostalgia circuit. It is a proper amphitheater tour, produced by Live Nation, from a performer who in 2026 happens to be a freshly announced Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee with a new album that charted.
About Billy Idol
Born William Albert Michael Broad in the suburbs of London, Idol formed his instincts in the late-1970s punk scene before going solo and engineering a commercial run that made him one of the defining rock faces of the MTV era. What separates this tour from a straightforward greatest-hits exercise is Dream Into It, released in April 2025 on Dark Horse Records — his first full-length album of new material in over a decade. The record reached No. 7 on the U.S. Top Albums Chart and No. 4 on the Current Rock Album Chart. Longtime guitarist Steve Stevens co-writes and plays throughout; guest appearances come from Avril Lavigne, Joan Jett, and Alison Mosshart of The Kills, with production from Tommy English. Idol has described the work as “really a reflection of my whole journey” from “the punk rock period through to now.”
The documentary Billy Idol Should Be Dead, directed by three-time Grammy winner Jonas Åkerlund and currently streaming on Hulu, covers the fuller arc — with the level of candor the title implies.
About the Venue
The Empower Federal Credit Union Amphitheater at Lakeview is a 6,500-capacity outdoor amphitheater in Syracuse that anchors the citys role on the regional summer touring calendar. A Central New York venue with room for a full production but an intimacy that arenas cant match — for a performer whose stage presence is calibrated for exactly this scale, the fit is right.
