The “It’s A Nice Day To…Tour Again!” run is a Live Nation amphitheater tour, not a nostalgia shuffle — and Syracuse catches it the night after Idol plays Darien Lake.

Born William Broad in suburban London, Idol sharpened his instincts in the late-’70s punk scene with Generation X before going solo and turning leather, peroxide and a curled lip into one of rock’s most recognizable brands. What keeps this tour from being a pure greatest-hits exercise is Dream Into It, released April 25, 2025 on Dark Horse Records — his first full-length of new material in over a decade. Stevens co-writes and plays throughout, and the record pulls in guest turns from Avril Lavigne, Joan Jett and Alison Mosshart of The Kills, with production from Tommy English. Idol has called it “really a reflection of my whole journey,” from the punk years to now. Expect the new songs woven between the hits that built him.
About the Venue
The Empower Federal Credit Union Amphitheater at Lakeview is the summer touring anchor for Central New York, an open-air room on the shores of Onondaga Lake just west of downtown Syracuse, near the State Fairgrounds. With roughly 17,500 spots split between a covered pavilion and a sweeping lawn, it scales up for full production while keeping the sight lines honest — the lawn here is one of the better summer deals in the region.
