About Canaan Cox
Cox grew up in Henderson, North Carolina in a household where music was inescapable — his father had Conway Twitty on constant rotation, his mother toured the southeast with her own band, and his grandmother played piano in church. He earned a BFA in Musical Theatre from Catawba College and spent time performing at Six Flags parks and on cruise ships before eventually landing full-time in Nashville.
The tipping point came in 2021, when a chance encounter led to an appearance on Bobby Bones’ radio show — heard by more than 9.2 million listeners — and his profile jumped accordingly. His fanbase, who call themselves #CanaanitesForLife, has been building ever since. Cox now sits at over 120 million streams, with a sound that blends contemporary country, pop, and R&B in a way that translates well from a playlist to a live room. His most recent singles include “This Town’s Yours,” “Through the Fire,” and “Stallin’.”
