Candlebox at Penn’s Peak | October 25, 2026

By Marc Delacroix · July 19, 2026

The “Can’t Quit You” branding isn’t accidental — it’s the whole point. Candlebox ran a 2023 farewell tour and, with founding guitarist Peter Klett rejoining after a ten-year absence, couldn’t stay gone. Frontman Kevin Martin put it plainly: “The phrase ‘Can’t Quit You’ really speaks volumes to how important our fans are to us and the music we create.” Whether you read that as a correction or a promise probably depends on how deep your history with the band runs.

About the Show

Candlebox plays Penn’s Peak on Sunday, October 25 with Sponge opening. The Seattle band built their commercial foundation on a 1993 self-titled debut that went quadruple platinum, selling over four million copies worldwide, and established them as one of the breakout acts of the early grunge era. They performed at Woodstock ’94 and toured alongside Metallica, Rush, and Aerosmith before a 2000–2006 hiatus. The post-hiatus catalog is substantial: Into the Sun (2008), Love Stories & Other Musings (2012), Disappearing in Airports (2016), Wolves (2021), and The Long Goodbye (2023), with The Longer Goodbye: Tour Edition arriving in 2024. The Maverick Years, a seven-LP boxed set, rounds out the retrospective for anyone who wants to go deeper. What gives this 32-date fall run its particular shape is Klett’s reinstatement after ten years away; original lineup restorations tend to shift a band’s setlist priorities toward earlier catalog, which aligns well with an audience that largely came up on that debut. Sponge, the Detroit alternative rock band that shared bills with Candlebox in the early ’90s and has maintained a near-constant tour schedule since, opens the show. Frontman Vinnie Dombroski summed up the reunion: “Touring with Candlebox in the early ’90s and coming full circle feels incredible.”
