The David Lee Roth era of Van Halen — “Jump,” “Panama,” “Hot for Teacher,” the loud and shameless stretch from 1978 to 1984 — gets a full-band revival when Completely Unchained brings their Loud & Proud Tour 2026 to Frog Alley Brewing in Schenectady on Friday, September 4. Their stated aim is to deliver not just the music but the full stage energy and production of what a Van Halen show actually felt like.
About the Show
Completely Unchained bills itself as “THE PREMIER VAN HALEN TRIBUTE” and backs the claim with a dedicated four-piece lineup, each member covering a corresponding role from the original band. Frontman Gene Henriksen (known as Little Geno) takes on David Lee Roth; the Emelin Theatre in Mamaroneck, where the band appeared in June, described him as bringing “powerful vocals, dynamic energy, and charismatic personality” that make performances “electrifying.” Jake C. Miller handles guitar and channels Eddie Van Halen’s techniques with precision; Clint Ettore holds down bass with “the same groove and intensity” as Michael Anthony; and Ronnie Sciascia provides what the Emelin called “thunderous beats and complex rhythms” behind the kit. The band describes their mission plainly: “bringing you the sights, the sounds, and most of all the excitement we all had growing up listening to one of the greatest rock bands in the world.”
The Loud & Proud Tour 2026 is centered on the 1978 to 1984 era, the stretch the band’s own tour announcement calls “the era that changed rock forever.” Their framing of the show itself: “We’re bringing it back the way it was meant to be — raw, loud, and unforgettable.” The setlist covers the obvious anthems (“Jump,” “Panama,” “Ain’t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love,” “Hot for Teacher”) alongside deeper catalog cuts for anyone who wants more than the radio staples. Completely Unchained has been active through a multi-state 2026 run; the Schenectady date follows a stop at Revolution Live in Fort Lauderdale in August.
