Albany is closing out a landmark tour. On Sunday, April 26, CupcakKe brings The Bakkery Tour to Empire Live — and it is the last night. Every North American date reportedly sold out before the run even hit upstate New York, which tells you something about where this artist sits right now.

Chicago rapper CupcakKe — born Elizabeth Eden Harris — has built one of the most singular careers in hip-hop over the past decade. She came up through YouTube and social media starting in 2012, releasing music that was unapologetically explicit, shockingly creative, and absolutely not for anyone who needed things to stay polite.

Her sixth studio album, The BakKery, dropped October 24, 2025. It is 16 tracks deep and ranges from hip house and electropop to hardcore hip hop, trap, and hyperpop — a record that acknowledges CupcakKe’s Chicago house roots while pushing into territory most artists would not attempt. Legends Will Never Die called it potentially her “most musically bold and hilariously written entry” in her discography and gave it 4 out of 5. The lead single is titled “One of My Bedbugs Ate My Pussy” — which either made you laugh or made you close the tab. Either way, she knew exactly what she was doing.

The Venue

Empire Live opened in fall 2021 on North Pearl Street in Albany and has become one of the better mid-size rooms in the Capital District. The main floor holds 1,000 — general admission, standing — and the venue also runs Empire Underground, a 350-capacity basement space for smaller bills. For a show like this one, the main floor is where you want to be. Doors open at 7:00 PM; show starts at 8:00 PM. This is an 18+ event.
