Danny Brown at Electric City | April 30, 2026

By Eli Thorne · March 23, 2026

Buffalo’s Theater District is having a moment, and Electric City — the room that rose from the former Tralf Music Hall space on Pearl Street — is a big part of why. When Danny Brown comes through on Thursday, April 30, it is the kind of show that makes the drive from anywhere in Western New York easy to justify.

About Danny Brown

Danny Brown has been one of hip-hop’s most consistently unpredictable voices for over a decade. The Detroit rapper built his reputation on raw, unfiltered energy — XXX (2011), Atrocity Exhibition (2016), and his 2023 collaboration with JPEGMAFIA on Scaring the Hoes make up a catalog that refuses to play it safe. He does not sound like anyone else, from the nasal urgency of his delivery to the experimental production choices that landed him on Warp Records alongside artists who treat genre as a suggestion.

His latest album, STARDUST (Warp Records, November 2025), is his seventh studio record and his first written and recorded entirely sober. The production dips into EDM and hyperpop territory without losing his edge. Brown has described it as reaching a new level of creative clarity — and he is currently mid-run on a 2026 touring stretch with the Buffalo stop arriving right in the thick of it.

Support comes from Indianapolis rapper midwxst, whose hyperpop-inflected style and emotionally charged delivery have been earning rooms on every stop. Get there by doors — this is not a set to walk in late on.

About Electric City

Electric City sits at 433 Pearl St in the Theater District, right in the center of downtown Buffalo. The venue reopened in the former Tralf Music Hall space and takes its name directly from Buffalo’s own history — Nikola Tesla’s work in 1896 helped make this one of America’s first electrified cities. The room holds around 750, features a VIP mezzanine for an elevated view of the stage, and is steps from some of the best hotels and restaurants downtown has to offer. There is no reason to arrive hungry.
