As I Lay Dying arrives at Electric City sixteen days after their self-titled album drops — a record the band describes as “both a continuation and a reset” — and that framing carries more weight than standard press-release language usually does. The San Diego metalcore band has been at this since 2000; their name comes from the William Faulkner novel, their catalog includes a Billboard Top Ten debut and a Grammy nomination, and their history includes a 2014 dissolution following vocalist Tim Lambesis’s imprisonment and a 2018 reunion. The self-titled album says something declarative about where they stand now.

The record arrives February 5 via Napalm Records, co-produced by Lambesis and bassist Chris Clancy, with Dusten Boles producing “No Way Out” — a track featuring guest vocals from CJ McCreery of Immortal Disfigurement, who also supports the Buffalo date. That connection gives the tour a logic beyond scheduling: the album and the opener share a collaborator and a credit. The band closed out 2026 with a short run celebrating the 20th anniversary of Shadows Are Security before announcing this record and the 2027 tour. The self-titled covers their full tonal range: lead single “Polarized” pulls melodic, “Retribution” delivers what the band calls “darker, faster, and heavier,” and the ten tracks overall, in the band’s own framing, occupy the territory between the two. On stage: Tim Lambesis (vocals), Chris Clancy (bass, clean vocals), Don Vedda and Bill Hudson (guitars), Tim Yeung (drums). The 2007 album An Ocean Between Us debuted at number eight on the Billboard Top 200, and “Nothing Left” earned a Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance in 2008. The Buffalo stop is part of a 27-date North American run stretching through early March.
Venue & Logistics
Electric City opened in Winter 2024 in western New York, occupying the former Tralf space at 433 Pearl St in Buffalo’s Theater District. Its name draws from local history: Buffalo became America’s first electrified city in 1896, powered by Nikola Tesla. The 1,000-capacity room moves between general admission and seated configurations and has built a reputation for strong sound and a crowd that shows up for the music. For a band with a Billboard Top Ten record in its catalog, a 1,000-cap club booking is a considered choice. The show is Sunday, February 21, at 8:00 p.m.
