Rochester is getting the last stop on one of the more quietly significant northeast runs of the summer. Elliott — the post-hardcore outfit from Louisville, Kentucky that broke up in 2003 and spent 19 years being one of those bands people argued was criminally underrated — rolls into Montage Music Hall on Thursday, August 6 with Bad Bloom in support. Doors at 7:00 PM, show at 8:00.
About Elliott
If you came up in the emo and post-hardcore world in the late ’90s or early 2000s, you already know. If you didn’t, here’s the short version: Elliott formed in Louisville in 1995, put out three albums on Revelation Records — U.S. Songs (1998), False Cathedrals (2000), and Song in the Air (2003) — and disbanded in November 2003 after final tours of Europe and the US. False Cathedrals is their most celebrated record, among the highest-selling releases in Revelation Records’ entire back catalogue, and it earned them the kind of devoted underground following that kept the name alive for nearly two decades while the band was gone.
In January 2022, they announced a reunion. The first show back was at Furnace Fest in Birmingham, Alabama — their first performance in 19 years. A 2025 US headline run of 13 dates followed. Now they’re deep into a summer 2026 northeast leg, with Rochester closing out a seven-date stretch that opened July 30 in Philadelphia. This is the last night of that run, which makes it feel like something worth driving for.
