The “2016-2026” viral trend that sent “Trap Queen” back to the Billboard charts this year is either proof that culture has a long memory or proof that certain records simply don’t age. Probably both. A decade after the song peaked at number two on the Hot 100, Fetty Wap’s melodic approach over skittering trap beats still sounds distinct: his singing voice lands somewhere between a soul wail and a rapper’s cadence, warm and specific in a way that glossier club-ready hits of that era weren’t. The Nostalgia Tour is the live follow-through. Buffalo gets it Saturday, August 22, at Terminal B at the Outer Harbor.
About the Show
The Nostalgia Tour is Fetty Wap’s first nationwide run since his release from federal prison on January 8, 2026. He served three years of a six-year sentence after pleading guilty to drug trafficking charges in 2023. He’s been direct about what this return means: “We really about to get back out there. We gonna turn up with all the old and some of the new music. Got a lotta surprises on the way and I can’t wait to hit the stage and vibe with y’all.” His publicist put it another way: “For him, this tour is bigger than nostalgia, it’s love, memories, and a celebration of the present and now.” That old music is the core of the night — “Trap Queen,” “679,” and “My Way,” the run of hits that defined a particular strain of melodic hip-hop in the mid-2010s. He’s also carrying something new: Zavier, his latest album, is available on major streaming platforms. The Double Diamond-selling, Grammy-nominated artist covers 19 dates across North America through December.
