Greta Van Fleet named their 2027 world tour Into the Beginning, which reads less like a marketing headline and more like a recalibration — a band that arrived carrying every retro-rock comparison the music press could manufacture and has spent a decade building enough of a catalog to let them atrophy on their own. The Michigan quartet plays Place Bell in Laval on Wednesday, July 28 at 7:00 p.m.
About the Show
The Laval date is the penultimate stop on a six-city Canadian summer run — Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, and Winnipeg in early July, followed by Laval and then Toronto on the 29th — and falls near the close of a 59-city North American and European tour that launched Feb. 3 in Savannah, Ga. and wraps July 31 in Grand Rapids, Mich. The whole enterprise supports Palace for the People, the band’s fourth studio album, released Oct. 9 via Republic Records and co-produced with Mike Elizondo. The 13-track record includes the singles “Tear It Down,” “Play Your Games,” and “Saw You Stand”; guitarist Jake Kiszka described it as “a recollection of the past few years and a love story for the world.” The material was debuted on Jimmy Kimmel Live! before the tour’s February launch.
Some context for what Place Bell is getting: this is the Grammy-winning band that broke with “Highway Tune” in March 2017. That debut single spent five weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Songs chart, and they took home Best Rock Album at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards for From The Fires. The influences have always been obvious; the longevity is its own rebuttal.
Portugal. The Man and Friko open the Laval show. Portugal. The Man appears on all six Canadian dates; Friko joins specifically for the eastern Canadian stops in Laval and Toronto. On pricing: all tickets on the Into the Beginning Tour are sold at face value, with no platinum tier and no dynamic pricing between presale and on-sale. The band has made this a public part of the tour’s identity — in the current arena-ticketing climate, that’s worth noting plainly.
