Indigo Girls at Beak & Skiff Apple Orchards | August 23, 2026
Indigo Girls are bringing their 2026 summer tour to Beak & Skiff Apple Orchards in LaFayette on Sunday, August 23 — and it is a pairing worth making plans around. Amy Ray and Emily Saliers have spent nearly four decades writing songs built for open air and fading light, and the Beak & Skiff outdoor lawn stage is exactly the kind of room — or field, rather — where those songs land the way they were meant to.
About Indigo Girls
Ray and Saliers met as kids in Decatur, Georgia, started playing together in high school, and adopted the Indigo Girls name while students at Emory University. Their 1989 self-titled Epic Records debut — anchored by “Closer to Fine” — won the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Folk Recording. Ray’s brooding, edgier voice against Saliers’s warmer, folkier tone is one of the defining sounds in American folk-rock, and the catalog they have built across albums like Rites of Passage, Swamp Ophelia, and Look Long holds up in a live setting in a way that rewards longtime fans and first-timers alike. They were inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in 2003 and remain outspoken advocates for LGBTQ+ rights, Native American land rights, and environmental issues.
The LaFayette date falls late in a busy summer run. The duo plays Simsbury, CT the night before (August 22) and Portland, ME two days after (August 25), making this a short window and a real opportunity for Central NY concertgoers to catch them close to home.
About Beak & Skiff Apple Orchards
Beak & Skiff has been a family operation since 1911 and was named the #1 Apple Orchard in America by USA Today in 2021. The Apple Hill Campus outdoor stage accommodates 4,000 on a general admission lawn with clear sightlines and sunset views toward the stage. On-site parking is easy. The 1911 Tasting Room — hard cider, spirits, and wine made on the property — gives you something to settle into before the set. Past performers on this stage include Wilco, The Avett Brothers, Iron & Wine, Noah Kahan, and Death Cab for Cutie. The booking here is consistently good, and Indigo Girls fits right in that lineage.
