Here is the thing about Albany getting the tour finale: it is not a consolation prize. When Lacuna Coil chose Empire Live Albany to close out the Sleepless Empire Tour 2026 on Friday, May 1, the Italian gothic metal outfit picked one of the best rooms in the Albany / Capital District to end a 29-date US run that kicked off at Gramercy Theatre in New York City and swept through 21 states. The last show of the tour. Right here.
About Lacuna Coil
Lacuna Coil formed in Milan, Italy in 1994. Over 30 years in, they have 10 studio albums and one of the most devoted followings in gothic metal. Their breakthrough record, Comalies (2002), moved more than 300,000 copies in the US alone and established the dual-vocal dynamic — Cristina Scabbia and Andrea Ferro trading off and layering — that still defines their live show.
The new album, Sleepless Empire, arrived February 14, 2025, five years after Black Anima. It is dark and cinematic, built around themes of identity and disconnection in a digital world that never powers down. The record features guest vocalists Randy Blythe of Lamb of God on “Hosting The Shadow” and Ash Costello of New Years Day on “In The Mean Time.”
Direct support for the full run — including Albany — comes from Escape the Fate.
