Larry McCray at Daryl’s House | August 12, 2026
If you have never driven down Route 22 to Pawling for a show at Daryl’s House, Wednesday, August 12 is your reason to finally do it. Larry McCray — Arkansas-born, Michigan-raised, three-decade blues road warrior — plays there this summer, and the combination of artist and room is exactly right. Doors at 5:00 PM, show at 7:00 PM. All ages.
About Larry McCray
McCray was born in 1960 in Magnolia, Arkansas, raised on a farm as one of nine siblings, and learned guitar from his sister Clara before his family relocated to Saginaw, Michigan in 1972. He spent years working the regional club circuit with his brothers, landed a deal with Point Blank/Virgin Records, and released his debut album Ambition in 1990. That’s a blues origin story with real rust-belt grit behind it.
He has spent the decades since building a reputation as one of the working blues circuit’s most compelling live acts — sharing stages with B.B. King, Buddy Guy, the Allman Brothers, Levon Helm, and Johnny Winter, among others. In 2000, he took home the Orville H. Gibson Male Blues Guitarist of the Year award. In 2024, he was inducted into the Michigan Rock and Roll Legends Hall of Fame. His most recent studio work, Blues Without You (2021), was produced by Joe Bonamassa and Josh Smith on the Keeping the Blues Alive label.
Bonamassa has said of McCray: “He knows he’s a badass, he just needs reassurance he can stand with the greats.” That quote is basically a preview of what a McCray live show feels like.
About Daryl’s House
Daryl’s House sits right on Route 22 in Pawling, NY, in the Hudson Valley. Founded in 2014 by Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Daryl Hall and inspired by his Live from Daryl’s House web series, the club was built to feel like you’re hanging out at someone’s actual house — except the sound system is serious and there’s a stage involved. The room is intimate, which means you’re close no matter where you stand. Wednesday shows start at 7:00 PM, which means you can make the drive down, catch an exceptional night of live blues, and still be home at a reasonable hour.
Tickets
Tickets run $28.69–$40.02. Doors open at 5:00 PM; show at 7:00 PM. All ages. This is a small room and McCray has a following — don’t wait on this one.
