Noah Guthrie at The 9th Ward at Babeville | August 13, 2026

By Nate Calloway · July 19, 2026

The voice that carried Noah Guthrie through twelve shows opening for Willie Nelson, through a cast role on FOX’s Glee, and into 110 million streams is the kind Americana Highways described as “earnest, breathless… perfectly evocative and powerful.” The Oddly Flexible Tour brings it to The 9th Ward at Babeville in Buffalo on Thursday, August 13, with special guest Davey O. opening.

About the Show

The tour takes its name from Guthrie’s newest album, described as a personal reflection on growing up: the loss of innocence, the slow arrival of self-awareness. Guthrie grew up in South Carolina and lives now in the Blue Ridge Mountains, which shaped his 2022 record Blue Wall, twelve original songs co-written and co-produced with his brother Ian. Americana Highways placed it “comfortably on both sides of the Americana/country music divide.” His press materials draw comparisons to Chris Stapleton’s country/rock grit and Jason Isbell’s authenticity, a pairing that isn’t quite as boastful as it sounds in print, if you’ve spent time with the catalog. He has opened for Willie Nelson twelve times, as well as Ed Sheeran, Ben Rector, and Dwight Yoakam; television appearances include the Today Show and Tonight Show.

Opening the evening is Davey O., a Buffalo native with twenty years of story-driven acoustic Americana behind him. He performs with what his own site describes as a “rust-belt work ethic” — concise, narrative songs on a Gibson guitar, delivered across listening rooms and coffeehouses throughout the Northeast. A 2013 Kerrville Folk Festival New Folk Finalist and 2011 Folk Alliance Conference Official Showcase Selection, he has shared stages with Ellis Paul, Suzanne Vega, and Jim Lauderdale. His most recent record, Some Days, arrived in 2023, and since 2020 he has released additional music through The Share Project, with proceeds donated to FeedMore WNY. The Buffalo News put it plainly: “A journalist’s eye for detail and poet’s ear for the well-turned observation.”
