If The Falcon in Marlboro is not already on your shortlist of Hudson Valley rooms worth the drive, this is your prompt to add it. 150 seats, perched above Marlboro Falls on Route 9W, and run on a donation model where every dollar you leave goes straight to the performer. That last part shifts the energy in a room in ways that are hard to explain until you have sat in one.
About Quinn Sullivan
Quinn Sullivan has already sold this room out once — his 2023 appearance ended with standing room. He is back Thursday, May 21, and if you have been curious about this guitarist from New Bedford, Massachusetts, this is the version of the show that makes the most sense to catch.
Sullivan has been playing guitar since age three. He spent a decade touring with Buddy Guy — a real mentorship, not a ceremonial one — and built his live chops at Madison Square Garden, the Hollywood Bowl, and Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival. The Washington Post called him “the most gifted guitar prodigy on the planet” and “the Clapton of his generation.” What that means in practice is a guitarist who can shred through a blues progression and then turn around and write a song. His fifth album, Salvation, out on Provogue/Mascot Label Group, was written in the aftermath of his mother’s unexpected death — blues and soul and rock pushed through something genuinely personal. The names that come up in the same breath are Marcus King, Gary Clark Jr., and John Mayer. He has also joined Trouble No More, the Allman Brothers-sanctioned ensemble keeping that live legacy going.
