There are festival closing days, and then there is Sunday at Solid Sound — the kind of afternoon where you are wandering a sprawling industrial art complex, moving from one performance space to the next, trying to figure out which stage to be at by 4 PM. Day 3 at MASS MoCA is the closing day of Wilco’s 9th annual Solid Sound Festival, and it is unlike anything else on the regional summer calendar. Primary tickets are sold out, but verified resale is active through Ticket Exchange by Ticketmaster — check current availability at the link below.
About Solid Sound
Solid Sound runs June 26–28, 2026 at MASS MoCA in North Adams, Massachusetts, curated by Wilco for its 9th edition. The full weekend lineup is serious: Billy Bragg, The Breeders, Gang of Four, Jeff Tweedy & Friends, S.G. Goodman, L’Rain, The Messthetics and James Brandon Lewis, Nels Cline’s Consentrik Quartet, The Autumn Defense, John Hodgman’s Comedy Cabaret, Elizabeth Moen, Rich(ard) Dawson, and more.
The headlining moment everyone is talking about: Wilco and Billy Bragg performing Way Over Yonder in the Minor Key — a dedicated set built around the songs of the Mermaid Avenue sessions. It is the kind of one-time collaboration that makes a closing day worth holding onto your wristband for.
About the Venue
MASS MoCA is not a conventional festival site, and that is exactly why it works. A 19th-century factory complex converted into one of the largest contemporary art museums in North America, it gives Solid Sound something most festivals spend years trying to manufacture: a sense of place. Multiple indoor stages and outdoor performance spaces are woven through the museum grounds, so you are genuinely watching live music inside a working art institution. It earns the drive.
North Adams sits at the western edge of Massachusetts in the Berkshires — roughly three hours from the Albany and Capital District area. If you are coming on I-90, build in extra time on summer weekends. The Berkshires are gorgeous and the traffic knows it.
