The Lox at Palace Theatre Albany | November 21, 2026

By Marc Delacroix · August 20, 2026

Thirty-two years after three high school students from Yonkers began performing under names like the Bomb Squad and the Warlox, Jadakiss, Styles P, and Sheek Louch are still on tour, still making records, and still sounding more or less exactly like themselves. The Lox return to the Palace Theatre on Saturday, November 21, for their second Albany headlining booking in two years, carrying a catalog and a stage presence built on three decades of refusing to soften.

About the Show

The trio’s biography reads like a case study in artistic self-determination. Discovered by fellow Yonkers native Mary J. Blige, who passed their demo tape to Bad Boy CEO Sean “Puffy” Combs, they signed in 1995 and released their platinum debut, Money, Power & Respect, in 1998 (it peaked at #3 on the Billboard 200 and established the template for what gritty, unvarnished New York rap could sound like at a commercial level). The relationship with Bad Boy didn’t hold. The group launched a “Free The Lox” grassroots campaign in 1999, secured their release, moved to Ruff Ryders, and founded D-Block Records, a label designed around their aesthetic rather than the other way around. News10 credits the group as “among the most influential contributors to shaping the sound and culture of East Coast hip-hop,” a claim that holds up when you consider the producers and collaborators their work has drawn: Swizz Beatz, Scott Storch, Large Professor, and, on their 2020 album Living Off Xperience (D-Block/Roc Nation), DMX, Westside Gunn, and Benny The Butcher. They also appeared on Kanye West’s Donda in 2021. The 2026 calendar has kept all three busy. They released the “We Outside” video with M.O.P., played the Legends Chicago Festival in June, and have a Rock the Bells appearance in Newark scheduled for November 29, eight days after the Palace date. Styles P played a solo set at Empire Live in Albany on August 14; the full trio arrives November 21. No support act is listed.
