The Silhouettes have spent more than fifteen years proving that shadow and light can carry a story as far as any lyric. The company — built around young performers ages five to nineteen, created and directed by Lynne Waggoner-Patton — brings “LOVE Happens,” their current production, to the Paramount Theatre in Rutland, Vermont on Saturday, February 20.
About the Show
Founded in 2009 by Lynne Waggoner-Patton, a performing artist, choreographer, producer, and motivational speaker with more than three decades in the business, The Silhouettes combine light, color, video, photographs, dance, acting, and mime to create what they describe as performances of “depth, intrigue, beauty and mystique.” Based in Westminster, Colorado, where they operate their own theatre, the company has grown into an international touring ensemble.
The AGT story is part of how the wider world came to know them. The Silhouettes placed first runner-up on America’s Got Talent Season 6 in 2011, finishing second out of more than 100,000 acts, then returned to earn the Golden Buzzer on AGT: The Champions in 2020. They are now resident performers at AGT SUPERSTARS LIVE at the Luxor in Las Vegas and have appeared on NBC’s AGT Holiday Spectacular, Nickelodeon’s See Dad Run, and Netflix’s MC2. The company is also the subject of the Emmy-nominated documentary Same Color Shadow, and has raised millions for children’s hospitals, cancer research, and veterans’ organizations through performances across Ireland, Poland, Mexico, Canada, Japan, and a 73-theatre tour in Germany.
“LOVE Happens” moves through the full range of what that word contains: friendship, family, pets, romance, parenthood, music, loss, and life itself. The Silhouettes describe the production as “an emotional journey of laughter, tears, and goosebumps.” It is a family show in the plainest sense of the phrase, with enough emotional ambition to reach everyone in the room.
