Sabaton at Place Bell | September 25, 2026

By Rachel Torrey · July 19, 2026

Sabaton plays power metal about wars, crusades, and the people history doesn’t forget. They do it with pyrotechnics, military-themed stage design, and more production than most bands bring to a festival. Place Bell in Laval gets all of it on Friday, September 25 — Pop Evil and Wings of Steel open.

About the Show

The Legends On Tour is built around Legends, Sabaton’s eleventh studio album, out since October 2025 via Better Noise Music. The record goes further into ancient and medieval history than the band has gone before — bassist Pär Sundström put it plainly: “further back in history than we have been the past few years, going to times that I think are very exciting.” The tracklist covers 11 songs in that range; lead singles “Templars” (19.1 million streams) and “Hordes of Khan” (6.3 million streams) have already logged serious numbers. The band describes the album as “a rock odyssey that transcends time and borders, with melodic guitar riffs, goosebump-inducing choirs, and epic choruses.” It’s also the first Sabaton record where every band member had a hand in writing.

Sabaton formed in 1999 in Falun, Sweden, a city of 37,000 people, with vocalist Joakim Brodén and bassist Pär Sundström holding down the core through multiple lineup changes. The catalog runs from the World War II debut Primo Victoria (2005) through the platinum-selling Carolus Rex (2012) and the World War I concept LPs The Great War (2019) and The War to End All Wars (2022). The four albums before Legends all hit No. 1 in Sweden. They’ve run an annual three-day outdoor festival in Falun since 2008. Heading into this fall run, the band is sitting at approximately three billion streams and booking headline dates at London’s O2 Arena and Manchester’s Co-op Live. Live, the show has been called “unashamedly bombastic classic heavy metal,” with pyrotechnics and historically-themed production to match.
