About The Strumbellas
The Toronto folk-indie rock band has been at this since 2008, and the Into Dust Tour is one of their better arguments for making the drive to Rochester. Two-time JUNO Award winners, they broke into the American market in a serious way with their 2016 single “Spirits,” which reached number one on Billboard’s Alternative Songs chart. Over a billion streams, Gold Records in the US, France, Belgium, and Italy, and TV appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and Late Night with Seth Meyers have all followed.
The band has been through a genuine evolution. In 2022, founding vocalist Simon Ward stepped into a backstage songwriting role, and Jimmy Chauveau took over lead vocals — making his debut on 2024’s Part Time Believer. Their most recent release is the EP Burning Bridges into Dust, out October 2025 on Sonic Unyon Records, and that is the record powering this run. The Into Dust Tour spans 24 stops across North America. Keyboardist Dave Ritter described the whole spirit of it simply: “music brings us together, gives us some moments of connection that are hard to find these days.”
