The opening track on Tim Easton’s fourteenth album, fIREHORSE, draws from a near-death rafting experience and comes out a swampy blues-folk crawl, the kind of song that doesn’t announce itself so much as begin pulling at you. That same patience, the willingness to let the music find its own pace, is what makes Easton worth catching in a room where you can follow everything he does with his hands.
About the Show
Easton brings fIREHORSE to Caffè Lena on Sunday, August 30. Released in February 2026 on his own Campfire Propaganda label, it is his fourteenth studio album, produced by Nashville’s Kevin Nolan and anchored by the rhythm section from Lainey Wilson’s touring band: drummer Matt Nolan and bassist Tommy Scifres. The record moves through country blues, folk, straight-ahead rock, and hints of classic pop, and one reviewer put it plainly: it feels like “the work of someone who has nothing left to prove but a lot left to say.” Perseverance is the album’s stated theme, and you can hear it across ten tracks, in a record that “balances revolution and romance, one-chord blues and desert highways, personal reckoning and communal uplift.”
Easton was born in Lewiston, New York, grew up between Tokyo and Akron, Ohio, and spent years busking across Europe before signing with New West Records and building a two-decade career on the folk and Americana circuit. He studied poetry at Ohio State University. Lucinda Williams, who mentored him early, “showed me what it meant to be a consummate songwriter,” and that education is audible in the way he handles a lyric. Earlier albums earned him four stars from Rolling Stone and featured members of Wilco. He arrives in Saratoga Springs near the end of a Northeast tour leg that takes in Cambridge, Portsmouth, and Vermont before August 30.

Caffè Lena is a 110-capacity folk club and listening room at 47 Phila Street in Saratoga Springs, part of the capital region‘s folk circuit. Easton has said he prioritizes house concerts, libraries, and listening rooms. This is that room. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.; the show begins at 7 p.m.
