Vitamin String Quartet has spent more than 25 years quietly soundtracking rooms people didn’t realize they were in: string renditions of Billie Eilish and Taylor Swift woven through Netflix’s Bridgerton, HBO’s Westworld, two billion streams accumulated by a rotating Los Angeles-based collective that never needed a headline name to build an audience. Girl Named Tom are a different story: three siblings who drove cross-country in a minivan during their first year as a band, played 67 shows across 27 cities, and then won The Voice in 2021 as the first and only group act in the show’s history, charting four songs simultaneously on iTunes during the run. The Crazy Ordinary World Tour brings both acts to the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center on Friday, October 16, and the pairing is either the most natural collaboration of the fall season or the most surprising one. In practice, probably both.
About the Show
The evening puts VSQ’s instrumental reimaginings alongside Girl Named Tom’s three-part folk harmonies and original compositions. VSQ is known for “transforming pop and rock anthems into virtuosic instrumentals,” with a catalog spanning Billie Eilish to BTS to Daft Punk and seven albums that have charted on both the Billboard Classical and Classical Crossover charts. Their mainstream profile reached a new threshold when Bridgerton Season 1 integrated their string arrangements into the series; Season 4 continues the collaboration. The Liechty siblings (Bekah, Caleb, and Joshua) have built steadily since The Voice: performances at the Grand Ole Opry and the Indianapolis 500, shared stages with the Nashville Symphony Orchestra and Kelsea Ballerini, and most recently a step into independence after parting ways with Republic Records. Their latest album, Dust to Dust, was released April 3, 2026, and reached the top 10 of the iTunes charts. The concert is billed around reimagined classics and modern hits with collaborative moments between the two acts.
Venue & Logistics
The Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center is a 681-seat theater in downtown Great Barrington, one of the more capable mid-size rooms in the Hudson Valley and Berkshires circuit. VSQ’s string work in particular rewards a purpose-built acoustic space, and the Mahaiwe delivers that. Show time is 7:30 p.m.
