If you have never been to The Song & Dance on a heavy music night, here is the short version: it is a small, close room on E. Jefferson Street in downtown Syracuse that gets loud in all the right ways, and Atomic Rule is exactly the kind of band built to make the walls feel it.
Presented by After Dark Presents, the show is Saturday, July 11. Doors open at 6:00 PM, music starts at 7:00 PM. Age restriction: 16+ with ID. Anyone under 16 gets in with a parent or legal guardian; nobody under 12 admitted.
About Atomic Rule
Atomic Rule is a sludge metal and crossover thrash supergroup formed in 2023 by guitarist Andy Williams — formerly of Every Time I Die and currently competing in AEW professional wrestling under the name “The Butcher” — and bassist Travis Bennington of Eternal Sleep. The lineup is completed by drummer Kevin Boutot (Dry Kill Logic, ex-The Acacia Strain) and vocalist James Hendergroove.
The band describes their own sound in terms of DRI, SOD, Merauder, Suicidal Tendencies, Agnostic Front, and the Cro-Mags — old school crossover thrash with real pedigree behind it. Their debut demo With Skull Crushing Force came out in September 2025. The debut EP The Golden Rose — three tracks, the first songs the full current lineup wrote together — followed in December 2025 on 288 Records. They have since played Forever Deaf Fest alongside Pig Destroyer and Weekend Nachos, and have a fall North American run opening for GWAR. The Syracuse show lands in the middle of a five-city July stretch that includes Buffalo the night before (July 10) and Albany the night after (July 12).
Support from The Virgos and Mistress, who are on all dates of the tour.
