BEAT formed in 2024 with a premise that sounded like a dare: take two actual King Crimson members, add Steve Vai on a second guitar, and tour the band’s most technically demanding catalog in front of audiences who know every meter change by heart. The BEAT North America 2026 tour touches down at Kodak Center on Wednesday, November 11, pushing the set further still — adding 1990s-era King Crimson material to a program that already covers Discipline, Beat, and Three of a Perfect Pair.

The full billing says it plainly: “BEAT – Belew/Vai/Levin/Bozzio Performing the Music of King Crimson.” Adrian Belew and Tony Levin were in King Crimson. Steve Vai is Steve Vai. The new variable for this tour leg is Terry Bozzio on drums. Bozzio, known for his work with Frank Zappa and Missing Persons, replaces founding BEAT drummer Danny Carey while Carey fulfills commitments with Tool. Vai offered a direct endorsement: Bozzio is “one of the truly legendary drummers of our time… He brings his own extraordinary artistry to BEAT.” Belew acknowledged the transition without diminishing either party: “His extraordinary musicianship, generosity, humor, and explosive creativity helped establish BEAT as something far beyond a tribute,” he said of Carey, while positioning the fall 2026 run on its own terms. The expanded setlist adds material from King Crimson’s 1990s catalog, which Belew described as “a new experience for our audience.” Levin, who will revisit bass parts he helped write, put it plainly: “Revisiting some of my favorite music is a treat in itself… we’re hitting it hard.” The group recently released Neon Heat Disease: Live in Los Angeles, a live recording captured at the United Theater on Broadway and available in 2CD+Blu-ray, 3LP, and 3CD+Blu-ray Artbook editions.
Venue & Logistics
Kodak Center, on West Ridge Road in Rochester, holds 2,400 — one of the more intimate rooms on this 40-date run. The itinerary slots Rochester between the band’s Washington, D.C. date the night before and Virginia Beach two days after. Show time is 8 p.m.
