Niagara Falls is not the first place you think of for an R&B night out, but Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino has been quietly running one of the more interesting concert programs in Western New York. On Saturday, October 17, they are bringing in Boyz II Men — a group that has sold more than 60 million albums worldwide and still sounds like a reason to make the drive.
About Boyz II Men
Formed in Philadelphia in 1985, Boyz II Men — Nathan Morris, Wanya Morris, and Shawn Stockman — built a catalog that owned the 1990s. Their debut single held the Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 spot for 13 weeks, surpassing a record that had stood since Elvis Presley. Their collaboration with Mariah Carey pushed it further still, holding the top position for 16 weeks. The group holds four Grammy Awards, nine American Music Awards, nine Soul Train Awards, a Hollywood Walk of Fame star, and inductions into both the Vocal Group Hall of Fame and the R&B Music Hall of Fame.
They are not coasting on history, either. This October show slots into a busy fall touring run — Pittsburgh is the night before — so you are getting an act that is actively on the road and putting in the work.
About the Venue
The Seneca Niagara Event Center lives inside Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino at 310 4th St in Niagara Falls — a 2,200-capacity room that hits the sweet spot between arena distance and club intimacy. If you are coming from Buffalo, you are under an hour away. From Rochester, budget about 90 minutes. The resort has hotel accommodations on-site, which makes this a straightforward overnight if you want to turn the show into a full trip through the Buffalo / Western NY region.
