What Vinny Cormier does as Vozzy, fronting Crazy Train through the full Ozzy catalog from Black Sabbath classics through “Patient #9,” is not impersonation. It is replication: the staging, the special effects, the weight of a set engineered to feel like 1993 and Ozzy at full volume. Sirius XM’s Mark Strigl (Ozzy’s Boneyard) put it simply: “Their performance was electric, capturing the true spirit of the Prince of Darkness. They’re absolutely phenomenal.” Zakk Wylde and Black Label Society sent a personal thank-you after the band played the Berzerkus Festival in September 2024. On Friday, December 11, it comes to The Stationery Factory in Dalton.
About the Show
Crazy Train bills itself as “America’s #1 Ozzy Tribute show,” and Cormier (performing as Vozzy) is recognized as North America’s top Ozzy tribute performer. The band includes Berklee College of Music alumni and Cormier’s son Dylan, and the production is modeled on the energy of a live 1993 Ozzy show: theatrical staging, jaw-dropping special effects, and a setlist spanning Black Sabbath classics through Ozzy’s recent material. Cormier has been on the road since 1977, sharing stages with Molly Hatchet, Blue Öyster Cult, Quiet Riot, Eddie Money, Kansas, and Steve Perry of Journey. He has also performed live with Steel Panther. The Renaissance Theatre’s president called it plainly: “Crazy Train is as close as it gets to seeing Ozzy live.” Big 104 FM’s Mike Dow was equally direct: “Crazy Train delivers a knock-out show.”
Venue & Logistics
The Stationery Factory is a converted industrial building at 63 Flansburg Avenue in Dalton, Massachusetts, in Berkshire County. The MainStage runs 8,000 square feet with a 32×20-foot stage and what the venue describes as world-class sound and lighting. The Shire Tavern is available downstairs for dining before the show. The show appears on the Capital Region events calendar.
