Drivin N Cryin at Colony Woodstock | September 10, 2026

By Marc Delacroix · August 24, 2026

Drivin N Cryin’s booking at Colony Woodstock this September places a Georgia Music Hall of Fame act with forty-one years of road work behind it into a 150-capacity bar in the Hudson Valley — a configuration that puts demands on both the band and the audience that a theater run or a festival slot never would. The three-piece, still actively touring and recording, plays Thursday, September 10 from 7 to 10 p.m.

About the Show

Formed in Atlanta in 1985, Drivin N Cryin built its national following on what the band describes as “Southern rock grit, folk storytelling, and hard-charging rock & roll” — three modes that sit in genuine tension with one another and require a band with real range to hold together without collapsing into any one of them. That combination produced consistent radio presence in the late ’80s and early ’90s, and the catalog from that era is the core of what eventually earned the band a Georgia Music Hall of Fame induction. Their continued activity on the road and in the studio reflects a refusal to let that recognition serve as a conclusion.

The current lineup is Kevn Kinney on guitar and vocals, Tim Nielsen on bass, and Dave Johnson on drums — the same three-piece at the core of Crushing Flowers, the band’s most recent studio album, which their billing describes as a return to their core sound. Built around the live configuration rather than expanding beyond it, the record takes the road-tested setup as its premise rather than its limitation. A three-hour show at Colony works from the same logic. Drivin N Cryin has maintained, per their billing, “a loyal, multigenerational audience” through consistent touring and recording, both still active at the forty-one-year mark. No support act is listed for this date.

Venue & Logistics

Colony Woodstock, at 22 Rock City Road in Woodstock, NY, is a bar and music venue with a 150-person capacity in the Hudson Valley — small enough that a band working four decades of catalog has nowhere to coast, and the audience has nowhere to be disengaged from what’s directly in front of them. Doors open at 6 p.m.; the set runs from 7 to 10 p.m. Attendees under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
