Gatecreeper at The Song & Dance | May 1, 2026

Syracuse death metal fans, here is what you need to know: Gatecreeper is coming to The Song & Dance on Friday, May 1, and floor tickets are already running low. At a club this size, that is not a slow-burn warning — it is a reason to move today.

Phoenix-born and Stockholm-influenced, Gatecreeper have spent over a decade refining their brand of Sonoran Desert Death Metal into something that sounds enormous even in the smallest rooms. Their 2024 full-length Dark Superstition — tracked at God City Studios with Kurt Ballou of Converge producing — marked a turning point for the band, drawing praise for pulling back the corners of their sound without sacrificing the crush. They are touring behind it hard this spring, and new music is reportedly inbound on top of that.

This is Night 16 of a 26-night North American run. Direct support comes from Arizona death metal outfit Eternal and Canadian unit Dying Remains. They played Hamden, CT the night before and roll into Toronto the morning after — The Song & Dance is the only Upstate New York stop on the entire tour.

The Song & Dance is exactly the kind of room this show deserves. Downtown Syracuse on East Jefferson, it is an intimate club that books heavy music regularly and delivers the kind of up-close, no-buffer-zone experience that is impossible to replicate in a bigger venue. When a band this loud plays a room this tight, every riff lands differently. Central NY does not get Gatecreeper often — this is the night to be there.

Show is 16+. Doors at 7:30 PM. Tickets start around $51.
