Glasswaves at Photo City Music Hall | October 23, 2026

By Meg Andersen · August 28, 2026

Glasswaves built a concept album around a failing pharmaceutical company, a drug called Neuro Veil, and the entity that materializes when the experiments go wrong. The Rochester trio’s debut, while(True), comes out October 23 on SharpTone Records. That same evening, they’re at Photo City Music Hall: hometown crowd, debut night, first listen.

About the Show

The trio is Noah Rich (vocals), Owen Miller (guitar), and Brendan Curtis (bass). They formed in Rochester in 2023 and built their following through singles, an EP, and touring, landing on a sound that spans dark pop, alternative rock, metalcore, and electronic textures. Their influences stretch from The Neighbourhood and Tame Impala to Bring Me The Horizon.

while(True) was produced by Justin Spaulding (known for his work with Ice Nine Kills) and recorded throughout 2026 across sessions in Atlanta and New York and remote collaboration via Discord. The album follows Liminal-Neuro, a medical technology company conducting psychological experiments with Neuro Veil; when those experiments collapse, an ancient entity called The Veil manifests, embodying subjects’ deepest desires before pulling them toward increasingly dark ends. Owen Miller notes that The Veil represents societal indifference to ethical concerns, citing AI data centers depleting natural resources as a contemporary example. Noah Rich describes the record as exploring “trauma, addiction, perception, and the unseen forces that shape the way we think,” and says the band “stopped following expectations, and made the record we truly wanted to make.”

Before the album cycle closed with “Swarm.ING_” on August 27, the band had already put out “fvck.me.up” in April and “doomed:2:DIE” in June. Rich describes “Swarm.ING_” as exploring “the feeling of something taking over your mind and feeding off of you, only to realize you are the thing that’s been consuming you” — a track he notes taps into “a new, almost nu-metal direction” while holding onto the band’s electronic core. The album announcement drew coverage from outlets including Nuclear Blast and press in Australia, an unusual reach for a band in its first three years. Downswing, 222feral, Greywash, and New Reality open.
