Hannah Wicklund picked up her first guitar at eight, formed her first band at nine — calling it The Steppin Stones, a deliberate splice of Steppenwolf and The Rolling Stones — graduated high school at 16, and went directly on the road. She is touring now behind War on Women; Calling All Good Men, her fourth studio album, and the one that finally sounds like the record she has been building toward.
About the Show
Wicklund is a South Carolina-born singer, guitarist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist who has performed across more than 20 countries, earning coverage in Rolling Stone, Guitar World, and Billboard. She operates as an independent artist on her own Strawberry Moon Records imprint and has shared stages with Kansas, Jefferson Starship, Jason Isbell, and St. Paul and The Broken Bones. She has also been a vocal advocate for working musicians: her efforts led to Live Nation’s “On The Road Again” program, which eliminated venue merchandise commissions nationwide and provided gas cards to touring artists.
War on Women; Calling All Good Men — released August 28, 2026, following her 2024 album The Prize — is self-produced across 13 tracks that move through rock, soul, blues, folk, gospel, and pop, with Wicklund handling every instrument except drums (Devin Vaughan on percussion). The track “Cowards & Kings” features what Wicklund herself describes as the greatest guitar solo she has ever recorded, done live in a single take. Reviews have been pointed: Maximum Volume Music called it “unquestionably one of 2026’s more under-the-radar highlights, and one of the strongest albums of the year so far.” AltRevue gave it a 9/10, noting her voice carries “the warmth of a tube amp.” Wicklund described the creative process herself: “Suddenly, I re-discovered the pure joy of making music. And the more I wrote, the less angry I became. The songs were a place to park my rage.”

The Bug Jar, on Monroe Ave in Rochester, is a 120-capacity bar and music venue. For an artist who has built her reputation on live performance across decades and continents, a room of that size offers something larger venues cannot: proximity. Doors open at 7:00 p.m., show at 8:00 p.m. Note the age policy: advance tickets are available for ages 18 and older, with a per-show limit of 10 tickets for ages 18 to 20; the restriction shifts to 21+ at the door.
