There is a particular kind of summer evening that Jack Johnson seems designed for — warm air, an outdoor stage, the faint suggestion of a breeze off the water. CMAC delivers all of it on Wednesday, July 1, when Johnson closes the Northeast leg of his 2026 summer tour with a 7:30 PM show at the Canandaigua amphitheater. The date lands the night after his RBC Amphitheatre stop in Toronto, making the Finger Lakes the final destination before the tour continues its coast-to-coast arc through September and October.
About Jack Johnson
The 2026 run carries more narrative weight than a typical summer amphitheater sweep. Johnson’s tour is built around SURFILMUSIC, a documentary directed by Emmett Malloy tracing his origin story from North Shore surfer to globally recognized musician — featuring Kelly Slater, Rob Machado, and Ben Harper, among others. A companion double album arrives May 15 on his own Brushfire Records label, pairing original score material with remastered early recordings. This is not a nostalgia tour. Johnson has a story to tell, and the shows will presumably reflect it.
His catalog has always translated well to outdoor settings. The songs from Brushfire Fairytales (2001), In Between Dreams (2005), and Sleep Through the Static (2008) — “Better Together,” “Banana Pancakes,” “Bubble Toes,” “Flake” — carry an acoustic warmth that suits open air and a relaxed crowd. Expect a set running close to two hours, drawing broadly across his discography, with the communal and unhurried feel that has been his live-show signature for over two decades. Recent performances have included a Pink Floyd “Breathe” mashup medley woven through the catalog staples.
Worth noting, as it always is with a Johnson tour: a portion of proceeds supports the Johnson ‘Ohana Foundation, the nonprofit he and his wife Kim founded in 2008 to support organizations focused on environmental education, arts, and music education.
About CMAC
The Constellation Brands–Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center sits in the heart of Finger Lakes wine country in Canandaigua, NY — an outdoor amphitheater with a lakeside summer character that pairs naturally with Johnson’s coastal, easygoing aesthetic. For Upstate audiences who made the SPAC date on June 24, the CMAC show is a second chance; for everyone else in the Rochester and Finger Lakes region, it is the only remaining stop within reach. The full tour extends through Hollywood Bowl in October, but this is the last chance in the Northeast corridor.
