Santana’s music carries an identity that almost nobody else reproduces convincingly: congas and timbales driving against melodic guitar lines that owe equal debts to Muddy Waters and Tito Puente, a tonal signature so particular that Carlos Santana once put it plainly — “With one note people know me.” JINGO, a seven-piece Latin-Rock ensemble from Hackettstown, New Jersey, has spent several years building a regional reputation on the claim that this sound is worth chasing across decades of catalog, and doing it in rooms considerably more intimate than the arenas where the original band made its name.
About the Show
JINGO brings that catalog to the Hudson Valley on Sunday, January 10, 2027, at Daryl’s House in Pawling. The set spans Santana’s output from 1969 to the present: “Soul Sacrifice” and “Evil Ways” from the earliest years, through “Oye Como Va,” “Black Magic Woman,” “Samba Pa Ti,” and “Europa” from the catalog’s middle period, through “Smooth” and “Maria Maria” from the late-’90s commercial peak. That scope takes in one of rock’s most recognizable and widely distributed catalogs. Santana was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998, and the band’s signature blend of Latin, salsa, blues, rock, and Afro-Cuban influences with elements of jazz and world music has made the original group one of the best-selling acts in rock history.
JINGO formed in 2018, though the seven musicians came in with more than 30 years of experience playing together in various configurations. The band has been described as “respectful, passionate, and stunningly authentic” in its approach, and what the ensemble specifically emphasizes is percussion infrastructure: timbales and congas not typically heard in rock settings, alongside blues-based guitar lines. The group has toured across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Delaware, Virginia, and Ohio, with a sold-out 2024 show at New Hope Winery as a recent marker. A second 2027 date is already confirmed: March 27 at The Cutting Room in New York City.
Venue & Logistics
Daryl’s House is a 300-capacity club on Route 22 in Pawling, in the Hudson Valley. At that scale, the percussion-heavy dynamics of Santana’s catalog work differently than they do in a festival tent or an outdoor amphitheater. The timbales and congas register as physical presence rather than background texture when the room is this close. Doors open at 5:00 p.m., show at 7:00 p.m. This is an all-ages event.
