Pulsifier at Empire Underground | November 30, 2026

By Marc Delacroix · September 20, 2026

Pulsifier describe their band name as a philosophy: musicians, in their framing, are “a channel through which vibrations flow, transforming into something new to share.” For a quartet three years old and 34 shows into a career that has carried them from southern Maine to North Carolina to California, this reads less like marketing copy and more like a working thesis they are still testing in rooms exactly like Empire Underground. Their date on North Pearl Street on Monday, November 30 gives the Capital Region a look at one of New England’s more deliberate young rock acts.

About the Show

Formed in 2023 in southern Maine by guitarist Christopher Skehan and lyricist and lead singer MeA, Pulsifier deal in what they describe as “a raw and passionate style of progressive rock with a little edge at times, and a lean towards complexity” — a band that treats the lyric as literature and means it. Their catalog to date runs from the debut single “Scars,” released June 9, 2024, through “Venomous Thing,” “War Cry,” and “Barriers Within,” the last built around a Rumi quote that the band says “will change the way you view love.” Ranging from hard rock to Sufi poetry in the span of a few singles is either a coherent artistic vision or a very ambitious overreach, and the only way to adjudicate it is to hear the songs performed. Pulsifier have been touring consistently through 2026, with dates in Maine, North Carolina, and California before this fall run.

In the band’s own words, the songs “bleed with emotion, and hold nothing back” — intensity as the organizing principle, not the byproduct. Live, Pulsifier’s stated emphasis on immersive performance, pairing visual elements with their layered sound, positions their sets closer to theater than a conventional rock show. Drummer Jay Allen “Sticks” Grant anchors the rhythm section. No support act has been announced for the Albany date.

Venue & Logistics

Empire Underground, on North Pearl Street in downtown Albany, is the kind of room where progressive rock with genuine lyrical ambitions finds its early audience, close enough to the stage that there is nowhere to hide. The Capital Region has absorbed its share of New England acts making the drive south; the venue’s club format makes for an evening where the performance will either land or it won’t. Show time is 6:30 p.m.
