Empire Underground earns its reputation the moment you walk in. Tucked into the basement of Empire Live on North Pearl Street in Downtown Albany, it holds 350 people and puts you close enough to the stage that the room actually feels like one. On Friday, July 24th, it hosts John Corabi — and the story behind this tour is worth knowing.
About John Corabi
The resume speaks for itself: Corabi replaced Vince Neil in Mötley Crüe in 1992, went on to co-front Union alongside ex-KISS guitarist Bruce Kulick, and spent nearly a decade as lead vocalist of The Dead Daisies. Across a 35-year career and 19 previous full-length records, he has been the voice hard rock reaches for when it needs someone who can actually deliver.
This tour — “John Corabi & Friends” — is built around something new. The Dead Daisies are sitting out 2026, which gave Corabi the opening to make the record he actually wanted to make. New Day, released April 24, 2026 via Frontiers Music Srl and produced by Marti Frederiksen (Aerosmith, Buckcherry), goes somewhere you might not expect from the Mötley Crüe alumnus: soul, blues, and classic 1970s rock. Corabi calls it “probably the most honest record that I’ve ever done.” The collaborators include Richard Fortus of Guns N’ Roses, Paul Taylor of Winger, and Charlie Starr of Blackberry Smoke. The touring band — billed as “John Corabi & Friends” — features Frederiksen on guitar and Troy Luccketta on drums.

Empire Underground is the basement room inside the two-level Empire Live complex at 93 N. Pearl St. in Downtown Albany, opened fall 2021. Three hundred fifty people, close quarters — which for a live vocalist like Corabi is exactly the right kind of room. North Pearl Street sits in the heart of Albany’s downtown entertainment district.

Doors at 7:00 PM. No opener has been announced for the Albany date. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster. The Albany show is part of a Northeast run that continues through New Bedford, MA; Teaneck, NJ; Annapolis, MD; and Glenside, PA through the end of July.
