Here is what you should know about a Laura Jane Grace show in a small room: it is the kind of night where the setlist changes on a whim, where sing-alongs break out mid-song, and where you leave wondering why you have not been to every show on this tour. Tuesday, April 28 at Funk ‘n Waffles in Syracuse is exactly that kind of show — and you have a narrow window to get in.
Doors at 6:30 PM, show starts at 7:30. Get there early.
About Laura Jane Grace
Grace founded Against Me! in Naples, Florida in 1997 and spent the next two-plus decades turning out some of punk’s most emotionally direct records. In May 2012, she came out as transgender in a landmark Rolling Stone feature — and in 2014 channeled that experience into Transgender Dysphoria Blues, an album critics still hold up as one of the era’s essential records. Her 2016 memoir, Tranny: Confessions of Punk Rock’s Most Infamous Anarchist Sellout, added another dimension to a career already defined by radical honesty.
She has not slowed down. Her most recent solo record, Hole in My Head (2024), is the latest chapter in a solo run that started with Stay Alive in 2020.
This outing — the Spring 2026 North American Tour, announced in February and running April 21 through May 17 — has her traveling under her own name, Laura Jane Grace & Band, with a tight lineup behind her: Ara Babajian on drums (The Slackers, Leftover Crack), Mike Abbate (King Mike) on bass (Screaming Females), and Lulu Lucious on second guitar and vocals (Thelma & the Sleeze). Expect a set somewhere between 75 and 105 minutes. Expect audience participation whether you planned on it or not.
Opening are LUNG and Black Guy Fawkes.
