Simply ABBA at Kingston Grand Theatre | February 4, 2027

By Marc Delacroix · October 30, 2026

ABBA tribute acts live or die by the same rule that governed the originals: the songs are the whole argument. Forty-plus years on, that catalog — the wall-of-harmony choruses, the four-on-the-floor insistence, the melodies that seem designed to outlast everything surrounding them — has lost none of its authority over a room. Simply ABBA, which bills itself as Canada’s premier tribute to the Swedish pop group, has developed a touring presence across Ontario with confirmed bookings at multiple venues throughout the province. The act plays Kingston Grand Theatre on Thursday, February 4, at 7:30 p.m.

About the Show

The appeal is straightforward: a faithful, high-production recreation of the ABBA catalog, played without irony. The Kingston Grand’s own event page describes the act’s approach as “pitch-perfect harmonies, wonderful musicianship, dazzling costumes and nonstop energy,” covering the greatest hits. The emphasis on costuming alongside musicianship signals a full theatrical production — not a jukebox set, but a sustained attempt at recreation. The show’s stated aim (“Dance, Sing, and Relive the Magic”) is accurate as a description of what attendees come to do. An Eventbrite listing for the act frames the experience as bringing “the energy, emotion, and iconic sound of one of the world’s biggest bands to the stage” in a concert designed to bring fans together. The Lighthouse Theatre’s listing for a Port Colborne appearance three days later (February 7) presents the act as “Canada’s Premier Tribute to the Music of ABBA” and places the running time at two hours. Two hours of ABBA, played well, is not filler. It is the whole point. The Kingston Grand itself frames the evening without ambiguity: “Come listen, sing along and tap your feet to all of the classic tracks.”

Venue & Logistics

Kingston Grand Theatre’s Rosen Auditorium is a theater booking, which suits the production. Assigned seating and a proper stage put the performance where Simply ABBA wants it: front and center, without the ambient noise of a standing-room crowd. Kingston sits at the eastern tip of Lake Ontario and draws from a broad geographic catchment: Belleville, Brockville, the Thousand Islands corridor. The north-country region sees relatively little touring production of this kind through the winter months; this is the sort of booking that fills that gap. Showtime is 7:30 p.m.
