The Guess Who at Empower FCU Amphitheater | July 7, 2026

By Marc Delacroix · April 30, 2026

Twenty-three years is a long time to wait for a band to reclaim its own name. Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings resolved that situation through the courts in September 2024, when a legal settlement returned the Guess Who trademark to the men who actually built it. What followed was the announcement of Takin’ It Back — a tour title that functions as both branding and declaration. On Tuesday, July 7, that declaration arrives at the Empower Federal Credit Union Amphitheater at Lakeview in Syracuse, with Don Felder opening at 7:30 PM.

About The Guess Who

The Guess Who emerged from Winnipeg, Manitoba, in the mid-1960s and spent the better part of a decade defining what rock from the Canadian prairies could sound like on the world stage — before the concept of Canadian rock had any real cultural currency. “American Woman” reached number one in 1970, making them the first Canadian band to top the Billboard Hot 100, a distinction that tends to get buried under the sheer pleasure of hearing that opening riff. The catalog surrounding it — “These Eyes,” “No Time,” “Laughing,” “Share the Land” — has held up with the durability that separates real songwriting from its moment.

Bachman and Cummings have not performed together under the Guess Who name in 23 years, and this tour is the payoff on that absence. Initial reunion shows in January and March 2026 served as proof of concept; the Takin’ It Back US leg, running through late August, is the full statement. Bachman has described the set as “a two- or three-hour Springsteen kind of marathonic show with about 30 hit songs” — an ambitious claim that this catalog is more than equipped to support. Don Felder, who built his own considerable legacy as a guitarist for the Eagles across some of the most enduring recordings of the 1970s, joins as support on the US dates. It is, collectively, a significant amount of music history for one outdoor stage.

About Empower FCU Amphitheater

The Empower Federal Credit Union Amphitheater at Lakeview sits on the Onondaga Lake shoreline and operates as the premier outdoor concert destination in the Syracuse and Central New York market. Formerly known as St. Joseph’s Health Amphitheater at Lakeview, the 17,500-capacity shed is operated by ASM Syracuse and consistently draws the kind of touring acts that require a real outdoor amphitheater in Central New York.
