Third Eye Blind are spending Halloween weekend on a three-city run, and the only New York stop is Basilica Hudson, a converted industrial hall on the river. That’s the headline, but it’s far from the whole story: from a Lil Baby arena takeover in Rochester to the Buffalo Philharmonic playing Night on Bald Mountain on a theremin cello, Upstate New York has put together one of its strangest, most costume-friendly concert weekends of the year.
We went through every show in our database for Friday, October 30 through Sunday, November 1, checked each one against the venue and the ticket page, and kept the ten that get closest to the spirit of the night. Costumes are encouraged at most of them; at a few, there’s a prize for the best one.
1. Third Eye Blind — Basilica Hudson, Hudson
Basilica Hudson — Friday, October 30 · doors 7 PM, show 8 PM
Show details · Buy Tickets
Ticket sites are billing this one as “Third Eye Blind: Halloween 2026,” a short holiday run that starts in Portland on the 29th, hits Hudson on the 30th and finishes in Philadelphia on Halloween itself. A band that has filled amphitheaters for nearly three decades is playing a raw industrial hall on the river instead, which is exactly why it tops this list. Inventory was thin when we checked, with resale the main option, so move quickly if you want in.
2. Lil Baby: Upstate Fest — Blue Cross Arena, Rochester
Blue Cross Arena — Saturday, October 31 · 8 PM
With Fetty Wap, Key Glock, Boosie and KenTheMan
Show details · Buy Tickets
The arena is calling it “Lil Baby Takes Over Blue Cross Arena This Halloween,” and the undercard makes it a festival in all but name: Fetty Wap, Key Glock, Boosie and KenTheMan on one bill. It is the biggest hip-hop night in Upstate New York this weekend, and nothing else on this list comes close in scale.
3. Buffalo Philharmonic: Hauntingly Halloween — Kleinhans Music Hall, Buffalo
Kleinhans Music Hall — Saturday, October 31 · 7:30 PM
Tickets and program at bpo.org
Ron Spigelman leads the BPO through music built for goosebumps: Danny Elfman’s Wednesday, Richard O’Brien’s Rocky Horror Picture Show, Mussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain and Saint-Saëns’ Danse macabre, with Jonathan Golove on theremin cello. When the last note fades, the night keeps going with a Halloween Night Dance in the Mary Seaton Room, with DJ Milk, costumes encouraged and the bar open late.
4. God Street Wine: Ghosts of Wetlands Past — Bearsville Theater, Woodstock
Bearsville Theater — Saturday, October 31 · doors 5:30 PM, show 7 PM, with Ominous Seapods
Sunday, November 1 · doors 5 PM, show 6 PM, with Chris Barron
Tickets: $50.65–$76.65 (Saturday); a two-day pass is available — Buy Tickets
God Street Wine are spending Halloween weekend revisiting their Wetlands-era years while celebrating the release of their new album, The Method. Ominous Seapods, another band from that scene, open Saturday; Chris Barron of the Spin Doctors joins on Sunday. For anyone who came up in the ’90s jam scene, this is the reunion of the weekend.
5. Deadgrass — Caffè Lena, Saratoga Springs
Caffè Lena — Saturday, October 31 · two shows, 5 PM and 8 PM
Tickets: $30.37 general admission, $27.11 members, $15.18 students and children (fees included) — Buy Tickets
Show details
Grateful Dead songs played as bluegrass, on Halloween, in the oldest continuously running coffeehouse in the country. This is Deadgrass’s third annual Halloween show at Caffè Lena, and the room’s own listing says costumes are “VERY welcome”. The early 5 PM set makes it the one show on this list you can still fit around trick-or-treating.
6. Jessica Lynn’s Halloween Bash — Daryl’s House, Pawling
Daryl’s House — Saturday, October 31 · doors 5 PM, show 8 PM
Tickets: $33.84–$45.17 — Buy Tickets
Show details
Jessica Lynn has turned Halloween at Daryl Hall’s club into a tradition: this is the tenth annual bash, with games, dancing and what the club calls its “legendary costume contest,” with Daryl’s House prizes for the winners. Costumes are strongly encouraged, and a sit-down dinner-club room makes it the most comfortable way on this list to spend the night in costume.
7. SoDown with Chozen: Halloweekend Night 1 — Buffalo Iron Works, Buffalo
Buffalo Iron Works — Friday, October 30 · doors 8 PM, show 9 PM · 18+
Tickets: from $15 — Buy Tickets
Show details
Billed as night one of the club’s Halloweekend, SoDown brings his bass-heavy electronic set to the Iron Works stage with Chozen in support. It’s the late-night, high-volume option for Buffalo, and it costs about as much as a costume wig.
8. Cool Club & the Lipker Sisters — Halloween Bash at Lovin’ Cup, Rochester
Lovin’ Cup — Friday, October 30 · doors 7 PM, music 8–11 PM
Tickets: $10 advance, $15 day of show — Buy Tickets

The best value on the list. Costumes are encouraged and there are costume contests, with prizes that include tickets to Cool Club & the Lipker Sisters’ New Year’s Eve show. Swing-era harmonies on Halloween suit the night better than you might think.

Empire Live — Saturday, October 31 · 8 PM · 18+ with photo ID
Show details · Buy Tickets
The touring 2000s dance party has given its Albany stop a Halloween title, which means a full room of people dressed as the decade’s pop stars, on the night when that is completely normal.
10. Halloween with Cryin’ Out Loud — Frog Alley Brewing, Schenectady
Frog Alley Brewing — Saturday, October 31 · Alex Hitrick at 5 PM, Cryin’ Out Loud at 8:30 PM · 21+ after 7 PM
Cover at the door — Event details
Show details
A brewery on State Street, a full evening of music from 5 PM and a local band to close it out. If your Halloween plan is a costume, a beer and live music without an arena attached, this is the easiest yes in the Capital Region.
