Three days before headlining Madison Square Garden, Jack Antonoff brings Bleachers to Canandaigua — which, in the logic of the “Bleachers Forever” tour routing, is not a warm-up. It is exactly where a band of Bleachers’ ambition belongs: an outdoor amphitheater with a lake view, on the cusp of summer, loud enough to be heard across the water.
About Bleachers
The June 20 date at CMAC is one of 24 stops on the “Bleachers Forever” tour, the road campaign behind everyone for ten minutes, Bleachers’ fifth studio album due May 22 on Dirty Hit. The record arrives less than a month before Canandaigua, meaning this show will carry the particular electricity of a band still calibrating what these new songs want to be at full volume. Lead singles “you and forever” — a direct address to Antonoff’s wife, Margaret Qualley — “dirty wedding dress,” and “The Van” confirm the album leans into the same anthemic, emotionally unguarded territory that has defined Bleachers since the start, and that has made Antonoff one of the most sought-after producers and songwriters working in contemporary pop.
Live, Bleachers traffic in communal catharsis: saxophones that arrive like an alarm going off, percussion that doesn’t build so much as detonate. At CMAC’s scale, that approach gets room to expand the way outdoor sheds are built for. Wednesday opens the evening — the Asheville, North Carolina outfit fronted by Karly Hartzman, whose noise-country synthesis (their phrase: “Wednesday Creek Rock”) is a more serious proposition than most openers. Their 2025 album Bleeds drew significant attention; guitarist MJ Lenderman has his own growing reputation independent of the band. This is a bill worth arriving early for.
About CMAC
The Constellation Brands–Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center sits at 3355 Marvin Sands Drive in Canandaigua — an outdoor amphitheater with views over Canandaigua Lake and one of the better natural settings for an evening show in New York State. It is the anchor summer music venue for the Rochester and Finger Lakes region. June 20 falls close enough to the solstice that the light during the opening set will be something.
