If you have been looking for a reason to make the drive down to Pawling, Carbon Leaf on Tuesday, June 9 is it. They are playing Daryl’s House Club — one of the Hudson Valley’s most distinctive live rooms — and this is exactly the kind of show that venue was built for.
About Carbon Leaf
Richmond, Virginia’s Carbon Leaf has been one of indie folk rock’s most durable acts since forming in 1992. With more than 3,500 live shows logged since then, they are the kind of band that rewards the drive — tighter live than on record, generous with the catalog, and led by a frontman in Barry Privett who knows how to hold a room. The five-piece blends Americana, bluegrass, Celtic, and acoustic rock into something that sounds both timeless and completely alive on stage.
This June date arrives behind Time Is the Playground, their fifteenth studio album and first full-length in a decade, released in September 2025. Privett described the goal as making “something that felt good to listen to like a story.” Connecticut-based folk rocker Chris Daly — equal parts energetic and irreverent, blending soul, punk, and classic country — opens the night.
The Venue
Daryl’s House Club earns its reputation. Founded in 2014 by Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Daryl Hall, it grew out of his Webby Award-winning web series Live from Daryl’s House — a show built on the premise that great music sounds best up close, with good food nearby. The kitchen runs American cuisine (steaks, seafood, pasta, sandwiches with regional roots), and doors open at 5:00 PM, so you have plenty of time to eat before the music starts. The sound system is legitimately good. This is not a throwaway club date — it is a proper listening room for a band that has earned your full attention.
