Collie Buddz at Electric City | August 1, 2026

By Meg Andersen · May 7, 2026

If you have not been inside Electric City yet, the Spark Up Summer Tour stop on Saturday, August 1 is a good reason to fix that. Doors open at 7:00 PM, show at 8:00, and the venue sits squarely in downtown Buffalo’s Theater District — hotels nearby, restaurants within walking distance, no complicated logistics. This one is easy to make happen.

Collie Buddz — born Colin Harper in New Orleans, raised in Bermuda — has been one of the more interesting artists working the reggae-dancehall-hip-hop crossover since his 2007 debut on Columbia Records. That self-titled album entered the Billboard 200 and introduced most of North America to “Come Around,” which got the full Busta Rhymes remix treatment and ran on urban radio longer than most tracks of that era. He has been building steadily since: Good Life (2017) and Hybrid (2019) both topped the Billboard Reggae Albums chart, and his latest record, Take It Easy (2023), earned a Grammy nomination for Best Reggae Album at the 2025 awards.

The Spark Up Summer Tour runs through September 6, and the August slate puts Buddz in rooms like Red Rocks before the run wraps — so the Buffalo stop on Pearl Street is not a throwaway date. Live, he brings the kind of laid-back intensity that works well in a 1,000-capacity club — close enough to feel the room, big enough to get the full production.

Electric City is the successor to the historic Tralf Music Hall, and the venue wears that legacy intentionally. The name and concept celebrate Buffalo’s place as America’s first electrified city — Nikola Tesla’s Niagara Falls power project, 1896 — and the room itself holds up to the history. One thousand capacity, Theater District location, Prekindle ticketing. If you do not grab tickets in advance, they will have extras at the door one hour before showtime, provided the show has not sold out.

Tickets are on sale now, ranging from $30.38 to $80.38. Grab yours through Prekindle before the weekend sells out. Saturday night in August, downtown Buffalo, a genuinely good room — the drive is worth it.
