About Failure
Failure has been making music that has actual weight to it for three decades. After a 17-year hiatus, they reunited in 2014 — and their seventh studio album, Location Lost, released April 24, 2026 via Failure Records/Arduous Records/Virgin Music Group, may be their most varied yet. Greg Edwards put it simply: “There are sounds and parts that really don’t have any precedence within the FAILURE world.”
The lead single, “The Rising Skyline,” features Paramore’s Hayley Williams on a largely acoustic breakup song — unusual territory for the band. Ken Andrews called it “probably the most delicate song we’ve ever done.” The album also includes “A Way Down,” which the band describes as an homage to early ’80s The Cure and Siouxsie & The Banshees, and “The Air’s on Fire,” written directly from Andrews’ experience recovering from back surgery. The band’s Hulu/Disney+ documentary, Every Time You Lose Your Mind, is worth a watch before showtime.
