Resurrection: A Journey Tribute at Riviera Theatre | September 25, 2026

By Marc Delacroix · July 15, 2026

Journey’s catalog has proven stubbornly resistant to nostalgia fatigue — anthems that outlived the band’s commercial peak, survived the Steve Perry era’s end, and endured a decade of lineup renegotiations to remain genuine emotional reference points for a certain generation of listeners. That kind of catalog generates a specific kind of demand: people don’t want these songs on a playlist. They want to stand in a room where the lights come down and someone delivers the experience, note for note, at volume. That is the territory Resurrection: A Journey Tribute has staked out, and on Friday, September 25, the Nashville-based group returns to the Riviera Theatre in North Tonawanda for Night 1 of a two-night engagement.

About Resurrection: A Journey Tribute

Resurrection occupies a particular position on the tribute-band circuit — a crowded space where Journey, given the catalog’s FM ubiquity, has attracted more imitators than almost any other classic-rock act. The band’s claim to stand apart is the one that matters most in this format: vocal precision. Journey’s signature sound was built almost entirely on what Steve Perry could do at the top of his register, and any tribute that cannot credibly replicate that is essentially a karaoke night with better equipment. Resurrection’s promotional materials describe the lead singer as delivering “the vocal precision, appearance, and stage presence of the legendary Steve Perry,” and the band’s performance record — venues ranging from major-league baseball stadiums to casino stages to club rooms across the country — suggests those claims hold up in practice.

The Nashville-based musicians who fill out the ensemble bring legitimate industry credentials, with members who have performed, written, and recorded alongside major names in the music business, including people who have worked directly with Journey. Resurrection is explicit that it operates without formal affiliation or endorsement from Journey or its current or former members — standard disclaimer territory on the tribute circuit. The band’s own promotional materials include the claim that Steve Perry himself has praised the performance as the genuine article, a detail worth noting even as it originates in band-published promotional copy rather than an independently verified source. The audience response at venues from San Francisco to Chicago to Nashville is considerably easier to corroborate.

The 2026 touring schedule has taken Resurrection across Tennessee, Iowa, Indiana, and now back to Western New York. This is not a convenience date dropped in to fill a gap. The band played a two-night engagement at the Riviera Theatre in September 2025, and return bookings at the same room in consecutive years are generally the most honest available measure of how a show landed the first time through.

About the Riviera Theatre

The Riviera Theatre at 67 Webster Street in North Tonawanda is a 1,100-capacity historic room with orchestra-level and elevated balcony seating — a configuration that rewards the right kind of show. For a tribute act whose credibility depends partly on the audience being close enough to actually evaluate the performance, 1,100 seats is considerably more useful than an arena. The room suits a production designed to recreate the scale of an ’80s arena concert in a space where the performers and the audience are not separated by a hundred yards of floor. Municipal parking is available across the street from the venue.

Tickets & Pricing

Tickets for Night 1 — Friday, September 25, 2026 at 7:30 PM — are priced at $20 through the Riviera Theatre box office. Night 2, Saturday, September 26, is a separate booking at the same start time. Secondary-market pricing on both nights has already moved well above face value, which is the secondary market’s unambiguous way of confirming that twenty dollars is the number to act on. For Journey-catalog faithful in Western New York — and there are more of them than any given September Friday would suggest — this particular face-value price does not call for extended deliberation.
