Giovannie & The Hired Guns at Empire Live | April 28, 2026

By Meg Andersen · May 6, 2026

If you have been sleeping on Giovannie & The Hired Guns, Tuesday, April 28 at Empire Live in downtown Albany is your correction. The Stephenville, Texas five-piece brings their Nobody’s Home Tour to 93 North Pearl Street for a co-headlining night with Georgia country-rap duo The Lacs. Doors at 7:00 PM, show at 8:00.

About Giovannie & The Hired Guns

Frontman Giovannie Yanez was gigging in dive bars while working at a rock quarry when he started building what would become one of the harder-to-classify bands on the current touring circuit. The five-piece — Yanez on vocals, Carlos Villa and Jerrod Flusche on guitars, Alex Trejo on bass and tuba, and Milton Toles on drums and piano — blends alt-metal, red dirt country, Latin pop, and Americana into a live show that earns every comparison to the “Tejano Punk” tag they’ve claimed as their own.

Their 2021 single “Ramon Ayala” hit No. 1 on both Active Rock and Alternative Radio. The band followed that with the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Award for Best New Artist in Alternative & Rock. Their latest album, Quitter — their fourth full-length, released March 14, 2025 — was produced by Johnny K at Sonic Ranch, a residential studio on a pecan farm near the Texas-Mexico border. Yanez is a first-generation American, and the record carries that weight. It channels personal loss and real-time reckoning into songs built to land in a room of a thousand people.

The Lacs are road-tested co-headliners in their own right — a Georgia duo who helped define “hick-hop” by fusing Southern rock and rap, with their Outlaw in Me LP charting No. 3 on both Billboard’s Top Country Albums and Top Rap Albums charts simultaneously.

About Empire Live

Empire Live opened in fall 2021 at 93 North Pearl Street in the heart of downtown Albany — a 1,000-capacity general admission room spread across two floors, with a separate basement space called Empire Underground below. It’s become one of the go-to mid-size rooms in the Albany / Capital District region for national touring acts, and a bill this stacked is going to fill that floor. Plan to arrive by doors at 7:00 PM if you want the real estate you want.

Tickets & Pricing

Tickets start at $51. Co-headliner nights at a 1,000-cap room don’t sit around — grab yours below.
