If you have been waiting for a reason to finally make it to Kodak Center in Rochester, Grammy-winning British singer-songwriter Joe Jackson and his band just gave you one. The Hope and Fury Tour rolls in on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 8:00 PM — and this is the kind of show worth building an evening around.
About Joe Jackson
Joe Jackson has never been easy to categorize, and that is exactly the point. The chameleonic artist who gave us the new wave sharpness of “Is She Really Going Out with Him?” and the late-night sophistication of “Steppin’ Out” has spent decades moving through jazz, classical, and musical theater without losing his footing. For the Hope and Fury Tour, he is back in rock mode — and the results are striking.
Hope and Fury, released April 10 on Sharp Practice/earMUSIC, is his first rock album in seven years. Jackson himself describes it as “Bicoastal LatinJazzFunkRock,” and press comparisons to his 1982 classic Night and Day suggest he has found his way back to exactly the sophisticated pop territory that made that record a landmark. Recorded at Fuzz Factory studio in Berlin and finished at Reservoir Studios in New York with co-producer Patrick Dillett, it is a full-band effort: bassist Graham Maby, guitarist Teddy Kumpel, drummer Doug Yowell, and percussionist Paulo Stagnaro all make the trip. This Rochester stop is one of 80 shows across 14 countries.
