Kelsey Cook’s Netflix special “Happy Hour” debuted in the Top 5 Most Watched TV Shows in the U.S. during its first week — the kind of platform moment a comedian spends years working toward. She brings the Reasonable Bedtime Tour to the Bears Den at Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino in western New York on Friday, March 12.
About the Show
Cook, originally from Spokane and now based in Minnesota, has been doing stand-up for 17 years, and the arc of her three specials tracks that career well. “The Hustler” has surpassed 4.4 million views on Hulu and YouTube; her 2025 follow-up, “Mark Your Territory,” has crossed 1.7 million views on the same platforms. For “Happy Hour,” she self-financed the taping at the Fitzgerald Theater in the Twin Cities in October 2025. The material took approximately 18 months to develop, intentionally crafted to land broadly rather than lean on regional references. Netflix bought it — a deal Cook described as one of the biggest goals a comedian can achieve.
The Reasonable Bedtime Tour spans more than 40 cities across the country. The “Happy Hour” material covers airplane bathrooms, sobriety, depression, and her mother’s dementia, all handled with a comedic approach that finds something real in difficult subjects rather than softening them. Cook has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon multiple times; her other television credits include Good Morning America, CBS’ After Midnight, CBS’ The Talk, Comedy Central’s This Is Not Happening, and EPIX’s Unprotected Sets. She co-hosts the Pretend Problems Podcast with her husband, comedian Chad Daniels.
One piece of backstory worth knowing: Cook is the daughter of an International Yo-Yo Champion and a Professional Foosball player, and as she has put it, that combination gave her zero chance of a normal career. She is also a World Champion foosball player herself, which she parlays into Wrists of Fury, a web series more than 20 episodes long, in which she hustles fellow comedians who have no idea what they’ve signed up for.
