Mac Saturn at Funk ‘n Waffles | June 16, 2026
If you have been looking for an excuse to make a Tuesday night a proper event, here it is. Mac Saturn — the Detroit five-piece who have been quietly building one of the best live reputations in the Midwest — rolls into Funk ‘n Waffles on June 16 as part of their Bound South Spring Tour. Doors at 7, show at 8. In a 200-person room.
That last part matters. Mac Saturn is the kind of band that plays big stages eventually — they have already shared bills with Dirty Honey and hit festival stages — but right now you can catch them at the Funk ‘n Waffles scale, which is about as close as you get without being on the stage yourself.
The band channels Detroit soul and Motown-era grit through a rock and roll filter — influences running from Marvin Gaye to Jim Morrison to Mick Jagger. Their song “Mr. Cadillac” exceeded a million Spotify streams. Their 2024 album Hard To Sell was produced by Al Sutton of Rustbelt Studios, the same producer behind Greta Van Fleet. Their 2026 single “Takes Time” is out now, and the tour is actively rolling — the band did a live session for WCBE Columbus just a week and a half ago. Vocalist Carson Macc has said: “Each song is like a film to us.” Bassist Jive Moses put the whole ethos plainly: “If everyone was trying to play alike, we wouldn’t be Mac Saturn.”
Funk ‘n Waffles at 307 S Clinton St is one of Syracuse’s best rooms for this kind of show — intimate at 200 capacity, full-service in the truest sense (live music and food under one roof, “Get Down Eat Up”), and exactly the right size for a band with this much live presence. Show is 16+ — under 16 admitted with a parent or legal guardian.
