Remember Jones has built his annual “A Big Band Holiday to Remember” into something that outgrows whatever room he last played. In 2025, the production appeared at the Jersey Shore Arts Center in Ocean Grove; for 2026, the December run moves through The Stone Pony in Asbury Park and Dream Live in East Rutherford before closing at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in the Hudson Valley on December 18. Rolling Stone has called him “high-energy… Broadway-ready…” The 17-piece big band behind him on this run suggests neither word was chosen carelessly.
About the Show
This marks at least the third time Remember Jones has appeared at Bethel Woods in roughly two years. His Mad Dogs & Englishmen production — a theatrical recreation of Joe Cocker’s landmark live album, staged with a 20-piece band and a 10-person choir — came to the venue’s Event Gallery in February 2026, and YAS QUEEN!, his Queen tribute production, appeared there in February 2025. The “Big Band Holiday” is a different kind of production: it puts Jones himself at the center rather than tribute repertoire, drawing on what the Asbury Park Press has called his ability to be “an expert at making the past present, bringing history to life with soulful sound and funky fury.”
Jones is a soul/pop singer and bandleader with a formidable résumé. He received the 2020 Monmouth Arts Council Artistic Achievement Award alongside Steven Van Zandt, Debbie Harry, and Kevin Smith, and the Asbury Park Press and USA Today have named him “one of the Most Influential Figures in NJ Entertainment.” His 2017 album Tranquilizer!, recorded in Nashville, appeared on Paste Magazine and Daytrotter’s Top 10 R&B/Soul Artists list. He has shared stages with Bruce Springsteen, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Dionne Warwick, Ronnie Spector & The Ronettes, Darlene Love, and Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes, and performed at the Library of Congress with Dionne Warwick and the American Pops Orchestra. He is also a member of the collaborative Everyone Orchestra alongside Robert Randolph, Steve Kimock, and musicians from The Roots, Ween, and The Revivalists. Live For Live Music summed him up as “fiercely passionate… one for the ages.”
